Community Vision Non-Discrimination Policy


Community Vision does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, familial status, or religion. As a recipient offederal financial assistance, we protect both staff and clients from various forms of discrimination and abide by the following federal statutes including:

 

  • Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VI), 42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d –2000d7 – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, or national origin 
  • Age Discrimination Act of 1975, 42 U.S.C. §6101-6107 et seq. – prohibits discrimination based on age
  • Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, 20 U.S.C. §§1681- 1688 – prohibits discrimination based on sex in educational programs 
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. §794 – prohibits discrimination based on disability 
  • Fair Housing Act, Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968. 42 U.S.C. §§ 3601 et seq. – prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status (having one or more children under 18) and disability.

This means that Community Vision does not limit participation in or deny access to its programming and services based on their membership in a protected group. Additionally, we take proactive steps to increase the accessibility of our programming and services to individuals with limited English proficiency, including providing reasonable translation as needed. How to File a Complaint of Discrimination

In accordance with federal law and U.S. Department of the Treasury policy, Community Vision is prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. If you believe you or someone else has been subjected to discrimination and/or reprisal because of membership within a protected group, you may submit a complaint of discrimination as described below:
