Zach serves as Senior Strategic Initiatives Officer leading implementation of programs to advance access to community ownership.
With over a decade of experience in affordable housing, development, policy advocacy, and movement-building, Zach specializes in community-centered strategies that expand housing access, community ownership, and build grassroots power. Most recently, Zach served as State Campaign Coordinator, at ACCE where he worked alongside community members across California to advance stronger state tenant protections and greater state investment in affordable homes.
Prior to ACCE, Zach served as Organizing Director at The Guild, partnering with community groups to incubate and secure property acquisitions for Peoples Community Land Trust, Atlanta’s first preservation focused CLT. This built on his experience as staff at Oakland Community Land Trust, an organization which he credits with shaping his passion for community ownership. Zach worked as a consultant advising community organizations nationwide and held roles at national organizations where he managed housing policy research and advocacy.
He holds a BA in Africana Studies and a BS in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University. Outside of work, Zach serves as board chair for CHARRS, an environmental justice organization based in Atlanta, and can typically be found on a bicycle, dancing at a concert, or with his hands in the dirt tending to a community garden.
