Since 1976, CompassPoint Nonprofit Services has guided nonprofits to better manage their organizations, become more fiscally sound, and achieve higher impact. With the belief that nonprofit organizations and leaders need relevant support that builds on their strengths, experiences, and achievements, CompassPoint increases the leadership and management capabilities of nonprofits.

CompassPoint reaches out to more than 250 Bay Area nonprofit employees annually through its leadership programs. Through teaching, coaching, consulting, and peer learning, CompassPoint provides the resources needed for nonprofits to create change. While primarily working with Bay Area nonprofits, CompassPoint also engages in national projects and partnerships.

With operating losses resulting from the cyclicality of its multi-year grant funding and expenses related to moving their headquarters from San Francisco to Oakland, the organization experienced lower-than-expected cash flow. CompassPoint turned to Community Vision for a $100,000 loan to bridge their cash flow issues. With their cash flow challenges addressed, CompassPoint can turn their attention back to what they do best, providing cutting-edge management support services to community-based organizations in the Bay Area.
