The pandemic has been crushing for community-serving small businesses, especially ones that are BIPOC-owned. Launching in 2021, the REAL People’s Fund is a community capital fund investing in an equitable comeback for the East Bay’s Black and Brown neighborhoods.
Founded and democratically-governed by six community organizing groups, this first-of-its-kind fund directly addresses the systemic failures that prevent entrepreneurs in BIPOC communities from accessing the financing their businesses need to thrive. The REAL People’s Fund is part of a broader movement to build a restorative and inclusive economy, and presents an opportunity to invest in a collective vision of equity, care, accessibility, and power-building.
Join us for a panel conversation to learn more about the REAL People’s Fund and hear directly from our community founders, Restore Oakland, Oakland Rising Action, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, Asian Pacific Environmental Network, Communities for a Better Environment, and The Restaurant Opportunities Center of the Bay, and our three anchor supporters, the Kataly Foundation, The San Francisco Foundation, and The Rockefeller Foundation.
Webinar information will be emailed to you one week before the event. If you have any questions, please reach out to email@example.com.
